Over the years I have come across an assortment of people claiming to be prophets, translate ancient records, etc., who are not part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I find the whole of it to be a fulfillment of the prophecies of the holy prophets:
True Prophets
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: (Joel 2: 28 )
False Prophets
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. (Matt. 24: 11)
And many false prophets shall arise, and shall deceive many; (JS—M 1: 9)
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Matt. 24: 24)
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. (Mark 13: 22)
For in those days there shall also arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch, that, if possible, they shall deceive the very elect, who are the elect according to the covenant. (JS—M 1: 22)
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2 Pet. 2: 1)
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (1 Jn. 4: 1)
And liars and hypocrites shall be proved by them, and they who are not apostles and prophets shall be known. (D&C 64: 39)
If you know of people who have or are claiming to be prophets, see visions, have angelic ministrations, translate ancient records and in general, lead the people, please leave a comment. Here’s what I’ve found:

These are the Nemenhah Records known as the Mentinah Archives. The Indians who hold onto these ancient records are just now releasing translations of them. They make the claim that they asked Brigham Young and other prophets to translate them but were told, essentially, that there was no Urim and Thummim (for translation of ancient records) in the church any longer and that they must wait, so, after waiting many years, they have now decided to do it themselves.
