Over the years, any time I’ve ever mentioned the words “secret combination” in a dialogue among LDS, inevitably I am asked, “You’re not one of those conspiracy theory nutcases, are you?” This topic appears to be taboo. Why this is, I’m not sure, but it may be due to our desire for acceptance among the mainstream populace. Perhaps it is just the membership in my locality, and yet, in talking with what4anarchy, who lives in another town, he also comes across the same response.
Try this experiment, if you get a chance. In a conversation with other LDS, ask the group whether anyone thinks there’s a secret combination set up today, and, if so, could they identify it? You’ll probably get responses ranging from “No, there aren’t any” to “Yes, there are. They are organized crime gangs, such as the Mafia, Yakuza and street gangs of all sorts.” It is doubtful that anyone will say that there are secret combinations larger than the Sicilian and Japanese mafias. I’ve found that most LDS are simply not interested in this topic and look at you weird if you broach it. Of course, I find their reaction to the subject even weirder than the subject itself, due to our conspiracy-based scriptures.
Conspiracy-Based Scriptures
That’s right. Our latter-day scriptures, the three non-biblical books, are full of conspiracy theories, which are presented as conspiracy fact.
In the Book of Moses (Pearl of Great Price) we learn that Cain started the first secret combination, becoming the Master Mahan. From that point on, there always existed a secret combination, which had the express purpose of murdering, obtaining riches (through plunder) and power (ruling over men) without consequences. (See Moses 5: 29-31, 51; 6: 15.)
In the Book of Mormon we learn of the Gadianton Robbers, a secret combination started by Gadianton, who received the secret combination plans directly from Satan himself. (See Helaman 6: 26-30.) This band of Gadianton Robbers plagued the Nephites throughout their history, eventually causing their entire destruction. (See Helaman 2: 13; Ether 8: 21.) We also learn that Nephi saw that there would be secret combinations among us in the latter-days. (See 2 Nephi 26: 22.) In addition to the (plural) secret combinations that Nephi saw in vision among us, we learn that Moroni saw that there would be a (singular) great secret combination among us in the latter-days, one that particularly would seek “to overthrow the freedom of all lands” and that “bringeth to pass the destruction of all people.” (See Ether 8: 23, 24.) The Book of Mormon also explains that the Jaredites had a secret combination among them, the plans of which were written in their records and put into action by Akish at the instigation of Jared and his beautiful daughter. (See Ether 8: 7-18.) This jareditish secret combination eventually destroyed the Jaredites. (See Ether 8: 21.)
The Doctrine and Covenants also mention secret combinations. Section 38 explains that “the enemy is combined” (v. 12), that there is a “thing which is had in secret chambers, to bring to pass even your destruction in process of time” (v. 13) and that “the enemy in secret chambers seeketh your lives” (v. 28.) Section 38, in fact, contains instructions on how to “escape the power of the enemy” (v. 31). The law of the church (section 42) was also given “for this cause” (v. 32.) The Word of Wisdom, section 89, was also given “in consequence of evils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the last days.” (See D&C 89: 4.) Secret combinations are also mentioned in D&C 42: 64 and in D&C 117: 11 (the Nicolaitane band.) Additionally, Joseph Smith writes in D&C 123: 13 that the LDS should expose all the secret combinations had among us, specifically, his words were that “we should waste and wear out our lives in bringing to light all the hidden things of darkness, wherein we know them.”
We have the charge, so why the taboo?
Our latter-day scripture is filled to the brim with details about both ancient and modern secret combinations, what they consist of, how they operate, what their goals are, and how to combat them and Joseph Smith himself gives us the charge to reveal all the secret works, so that they are no longer secret (which is their real power), so why is this such a taboo subject?

As a result of this charge, I am creating a new Secret Combinations category. The articles posted in it will be my attempt to fulfill Joseph Smith’s charge of “bringing to light all the hidden things of darkness.”

That is interesting, it seems to me just indicative of Mormonism’s downplaying (some might even say rejection) of many of its more radical ideas, whether political, theological, social, or whatever. What concrete examples do you consider to be secret combinations? Large corporations? The two-party system? I’d be interested to hear more details on your thoughts. And I’ll try the experiment you discuss and let you know how it turns out here in Provo (*gulp*).
Wow, you totally preempted me on this one. I have been pondering this for some time and have seriously considered to myself the possibility of those now holding positions of power and how they “truly” came to possess it. I believe that many LDS today have become completely complacent to many things because of affluence and ease of life. How easy is it for us to go to conference, read the Ensign and not really have to do any interpreting for ourselves? Of course we are told to study our scriptures and come to our own conclusions about everything. However, I personally don’t think this is happening. I personally am recommitting myself to prayerful scripture study and not just scripture reading. I also feel – somewhat in response to a question you posed in the gift of tongues post – that the reason many of the gifts and signs of Christ’s true believers are absent, is because of this complacency. I feel that too much of the secular philosophy and template of thought has been creeping in to the minds of the members. Therefore, if it is outside the bounds of what the so-called mainstream subscribes to, some of us unfortunately do not wish to appear “strange” or “different”. Yet, isn’t that exactly what we should strive to be? To be peculiar people. To be separate from the things of the world. I can’t remember who said it but I think it is fitting to this topic:
“The greatest lie that satan has told, is that he does not exist.”
Combinations still exist, because satan still exists. Combinations will not be done away until satan is bound and eventually cast out. I have been getting some strange responses for my recent examination of the WoW. I find it puzzling how many people look at me in a strange way for my new found direction. I thought more people would want to know more about it and would be willing to listen, but so far I have received no such reception. So I am interested to see how my thoughts on combinations will be received. Why would he not try to convince us that there are no such things, when we were commissioned to uncover these things and warn others?
Hands down Jesus Christ was the most radical human being who ever lived. He shook the very foundations of people’s beliefs and preconceived notions about many things. Likewise is church doctrine. It is radical in so many ways, while that in itself doesn’t make it true, but the scriptures have shown that truth is radical. Truth can be hard to digest and hard to live. Yet many members reject the radicalness – is that a word? – of their religion. They seemingly desire to blend in.
Personally I feel a great punishment is eminent for church members by the Lord, just like when He chastised those in the early days of the restored church for not reading the Book of Mormon. I think a lot more is happening than not just reading the Book of Mormon and I think it is fitting with why there are not many signs these days. It is because of unbelief. Maybe I’m way out in left field on this, but I would like someone else’s input on the subject. When was the last time a prophet spoke in the name of the Lord and said so? Was it Joseph Smith? We believe in visions, revelations, healing, tongues and interpretation of tongues, and so on; yet where are these things today? Is the Lord displeased with the church today, is that why we don’t see them? The church is growing, but how much greater would the conversion rate be if these things were more frequent?
Yeah, may I commend all of you for questioning, and to be hearkening to the words of the olden day prophets to avoid the precepts of man as they are deceiving. It does seem, not just in Utah but all over, that certain phrases have been assigned with powers to forcefully tell people to stop listening and stop discussing NOW! ‘Conspiracy theories’ –> ‘conspiracy nuts’ is one example. It’s suspicious because conspiracy means simply that more than one person gets together to commit a crime. The accepted (and pushed) story of 9-11 is clearly a conspiracy theory in that it says that 12 or more arabs planned for several years, and then carried out, heinous crimes in NYC, DC and Pennsylvania.
Another power phrase is ‘anti-semitic’ –> ‘racist nut’ and in fact ‘racist’ is another by itself. As soon as those words come up in a conversation, the discussion abruptly stops. Among LDS, another is ‘anti’. When one person says that, the discussion is effectively over.
So the question is, how do these words take on such power to program us to stop discussing a possibly troublesome thought or topic when someone else – and eventually we ourselves when we internalize the programming and begin to self-monitor even our silent thoughts – says that word or phrase? Is this something that ‘just happens’ (coincidence theory) or is there a Who behind it?

I agree with what you are experiencing, watching people bottle up when certain words are said. Secret combinations seems to be a word group that has been programmed to activate many different patterns. Have you ever seen a hypnotist on stage? One may see at a demonstration of hypnosis that certain words such as “sleep” may be programmed into subjects. When the Hypnotist speaks “sleep” during the performance subjects all go to sleep. The same techniques are found being used throughout america behind TV and radio programming, inside movies, ect. Makes one wonder what is behind the obviously visible messages of some of the seminary videos, and membership recruiting videos…think about it. Have you ever been watching a movie and you just tingle during a certain part,your body starts vibrating and you get excited. We just saw a new movie out called alvin and the chipmunks. One should watch this movie and pay attention to the different vibrations present during the witch doctor scene. You’ll feel this one, it’s the strongest suggestive frequency impulse I’ve eve felt.
Some electrically derived frequencies almost feel like that warm and fuzzy feeling, that one might truly find organically in prayer. Centuries of obviously corrupt religions have used bells, organs, wind pipes, intentioned water, wines and other intoxicating drinks, and smoking frequencies like incense to harmonize, or influence church members. They still do today as cleaners, air fresheners, soaps, and even recommended church attire all are derived from chemicals/drugs that are toxic, and support war, terror, and the other goals of the secret combination of secret society.

These comments make me think of neurolinguistic programming (NLP). I actually studied a form or branch of NLP some years ago but am still amazed at how susceptible I still am to it. I remember after 9/11, when President Bush got up to speak to the nation, it was top to bottom full of NLP, but due to my mental state (I, like everyone else, was still in shock over the Twin Towers falling) it struck every chord it was supposed to strike, without a moment’s thought contrary. It wasn’t until a short while later, after I had collected my thoughts and separated the emotions from the thoughts, so that I could think rationally and analyze the situation, did I go back over that speech and recognize the NLP patterns. I still kick myself over that. I should have known better. I should have recognized the NLP patterns right away. But, now I take it as a life lesson. I wonder how many other people who were taught to recognize NLP patterns were duped by that speech? And if I, who was taught NLP, was neurolinguistically programmed (for a little awhile, at least) with relative ease due to a catastrophe which brought out strong emotions that blinded the reason, how much more so are the people who don’t even know the NLP patterns that are routinely used all the time? Truly, Satan is deceiving the nations on an enormous scale.
I have just been reading on http://www.infowars.com and some of the stuff there is pretty scary when you reference it with our prophecies in the book of mormon and doctrine and covenants. particularly parts about the middle east about to explode and the bohemian grove. i will try your experiment here in australia and see if i get the same response. i have no doubt there are secret combinations in fact i would go so far as to suggest there is one that encompasses the globe and many of the worlds leaders and elite.
Conspiracy theories abound… particularly about Freemasons. And yet, Joseph Smith was not only a Freemason, but he insisted the original 12 also became freemasons. Since I am a Freemason, and nothing bad happens there… my focus then has to be on the Bohemian Grove. Since I know nothing about it….I’d like some enlightenment. I know tha GW Bush, nor his father were Freemasons…and yet, many people think they were. Instead they were members of the “Skull and Bones” a Yale society. But they’re also members of the Bohemian Grove, which I know nothing about. Please educate me. By the way, I’ve heard from someone at Church that the United Nations was in fact a “secret combination…” I left then.
In his historic address to the United Nations on December 7, 1988, the Soviet Prime Minister made this dogmatic and even prophetic statement: “Further global progress is now possible only through a quest for universal consensus in the movement towards a new world order.”
E. Taft Benson- Enemy Among US and the Key to Prophecy both really older books written by Members of the Church. The secret combinations will be listed and somewhat breifed in those books. I can see why the Bishop would not discuss the books or the Secret Combination. Secret Society is a scary read.
George Bush proved to be a good and faithful servant of the “brotherhood” in making the “New World Order” agenda a priority focus of his administration. Just before leaving for Helsinki, Finland, early in September 1990 to discuss the Persian Gulf crisis at his summit meeting with Soviet President Gorbachev, President George Bush expressed the hope that “the foundation for the new world order would be laid in Helsinki” and that it would be established under the United Nations.

This New World Order is not some prophetically speculative or futuristic fairy tale, but a real world reality. It is not some “wacko conspiracy theory” advanced by the fringe of society like the powers that be would have us believe. Anybody that will end their soma enduced “holiday” will see the evidence all around them.
It has been a long time in the making, its pieces fitting into place from divergent realms and different players. Gears and levers of history have been moved and adjusted, and a large-scale game of Monopoly has been played, with real currency and real assets shifting hands – a game with very real winners and losers.
The players in this grand deception understand it is a dangerous and risky undertaking, for they are vastly outnumbered. If average Americans woke up and understood their true agenda, there would be an uprising of revolutionary proportions. Therefore, secrecy of their true agenda is critical.

While it is nearly impossible to accurately trace the interlocking agendas of these organizations, the supernatural dimension is the one that gives the puzzle meaning. How else can you explain a master plan that has existed for hundreds of years?
Today, the power of a small group of banksters is colossal according to Harvard and Princeton professor emeritus, Carroll Quigley, who confessed to being an insider and confidant of this elite group. He said of this group:

The actions of The Federal Reserve Board have proven to be the first cause in the death of our economy. The stop-&-go monetary policy created by these institutions makes business conditions unpredictable & thus inhibits investment & productivity. They have also been proven susceptible to political pressure for cheaper credit. When governments control a money supply, even indirectly, they have always throughout history abused that power. Inflationary creation of base money serves to enlarge the governments command over real resources in a way hidden from the people. The wealth-redistributive power of money injections makes it suitable for use as a vote-buying tool. It should be obvious: The monetary disorders of nations can only be caused by their existing monetary authorities, especially in the absence of any real competition, competition, which is the only force which keeps commercial action honest.
The assumption that government has an inherent role in money & banking, (apart from setting standards, as they do with inches and feet, ounces and pounds, minutes and hours) is as preposterous as believing they have a place competing with any private business. In history when banking was most stable it was closest to pure laissez-faire operation. Whenever a nation was growing well, was creative, inventive, & productive you will find a banking system very close to free-enterprise competitive banking. Having politicians & bureaucrats in charge of the money supply is like having Dracula in charge of a blood bank. The banking systems of the western world are the complete & only cause of recessions, inflations, ‘stagflations’ depressions, panics & runs.

Federal government can only pay for its expenditures by indirect tax or by creating currency (money) into circulation, just as the banks do now (credit). Federal government prohibited from borrowing ever, for any reason. An absolute, since it has sufficient income or it may create money for legitimate federal needs.
Monetisation of the debt: i.e. redenote all government debt issue as currency, thereby canceling the debt & ending further interest payments, and thusly evading inflation. (The only alternative to this is repudiation of the debt i.e. a jubilee.)
Federal income tax abolished since government can create purchasing power for its own needs. (No federal direct taxation and repudiation of the 16th. Amendment)
Sell, to the citizens, all federal assets including airwaves, government-lands, parks etc. i.e. privatize in toto.
De-centralize: Destroy federal duplicate buraucracies as they are not only redundant but they encroach (trench) upon state powers and create parasitism.
Who is stealing your assets ?
Who gives you inflation ?
Who gives you recessions ?
Who gives you booms & busts ?
Who gives you bankruptcy & power of sale ?
I agree with all those who feel that a conspiracy spirit abounds in this World and within the church.
At a time in History when God says these are worse than the days of Noah, and there is still any doubt ? You think GOD is in charge of all this confusion and crap ? And that Satan would NEVER think to stoop so low as to try to conseal His intentions ?
I contribute any doubt to a couple of things. Either you’re stupid or are actually a part of the conspiracy. There ain’t much wiggle room here.
I’m amazed at how so many people can rationalize or ignore Flagrant Signs of Garbage going on.
It seems that only simple folk are able to tell the difference between a Chicken Sandwich and a Chicken Sh__ sandwhich now a days. Then again the Lord did suggest these would be some pretty crazy times didn’t He ?
I guess being able to detect these things has become so sophisticated… that standing knee deep in Dog Sh__ isn’t enough…It must also be tasted to determine if it’s real and even then, it must be determined from what breed it came from before considering spitting it out.

Church Policy is to not discuss that which offends. And the last time I had words of truth to speak to people I knew in my days before Saint Hood, who needed to be spoken to….They were offended by that.
You don’t even have to know the specifics to their crimes to know that crimes are being committed. The attempt to block a questioning mind is in itself a crime, that is making the attempt at concealing what they don’t want you to know.
What’s the problem with asking probing questions ? Just satisfy me with an answer and let ME decide whether or not you are telling the truth.
And do I have a right to ask ANY question concerning MY LIFE that is being directed by those appointed over me ? If I DIDN’T I would be a trustworthy FOOL.
This really isn’t rocket science…I’ve learned to imeadiately go to that which is forbiddened when it comes to sensorship of common rights we inherit from God.
What we are seeing unfold right before our eyes in the news today is going to seem like simple moral slips of judgement compared to what we as members will wittness unfold in the Church in the near future.
With the way things are digressing, I would give it no later than the Summer of 012.
There is a Very close knit relationship between what is happening in the World and within the Church. ( A Covenant with Death ) as Isaiah would put it.
And before the Lord allows the Hammer to fall upon the World, He will first hammer His Church.
So just keep close tabs on Political news, because the problems are one in the same.
When you see the OBVIOUS about to Blow it’s top ( that which is being reported on TV )…The INOBVIOUS ( What will transpire in the Church ) will first Blow our minds.
All those in the church who mock and point the finer at the World and it’s insanity while thinking we are sqeaky clean, are in for a sad awakening.
I used to be angered by these thoughts. But the closer we get, I’m begining to feel more sad. Afterall…We are Brothers & Sisters. And so many are going to regret the consequences of Pride.
I’m glad that I’ve already been there and done that and had the Lord jerk a knot in my chain before this coming crisis arrives. I hope many others will be brought to their senses before it’s too late.
I have more compassion for the evil ones than the dupes who seem to lack the intellegence to make up their minds or be deluded into thinking ALL IS WELL.
The evil ones are driven to a cause but sadly a sad one. I wish this all to be over with before long. It hurts to think I may have known friends who will sink in the coming flood.
I guess I should count myself fortunate to have already been through that evil mill and have been spared for some other useful purpose.

For those who believe that Satan during his greatest time of power, would be inspiring people to do evil things and attempt to conceal them, is just plain paranoia.
I’m sick & tired of members who feel that just because our leaders don’t “Bark” in the face of impending danger…. that they lack a bite.
There are many scriptures refering to them as wolves who feed off the sheep. So don’t tell me they have no backbone or bite. The reason they don’t bark is because Wolves don’t do that. They howl with delight over every paycheck extracted through obiedience to God from the backs of the sheep.
That covenant with death that Isaiah speaks of, speaks of the conspirtorial mindset of our leaders who conspire to cause us to accept materialism as our God and as long as you educate yourself into finacial security, you have achived NIRVANA & keep the pumps of Babylon flowing to the coffers.
These people who adopt this as the basis for spiritual success, as opposed to wealth representing a by product of obiedience to & love for God, have entered the covenant with death, which is ultimately personified in the man who destroys them.
The proof that our leaders are leading this evil cause is personified in the title given to our prophet as “Trustee in Trust” over the branch of the Church that is given first consideration over the eclastical branch designed to FACILITATE the Corporation to THEIR benefit.
They keep the sheep in a scattered condition throughout the world, in order to reduce the risk of nieve & inocent sheep from gaining a perspective of those wise sheep who have been grazing near the barn.
Divide & Conqere is the method of management & intimidation is the measure of control.
These men are nothing more than suited punk thugs, who THINK they speak for God. …Big Brave men of God who inspire the masses with spiritual vomit and intimidate those not willing to consume puke.
I say Bring It On ! Soon the Lord will cause evil to canabalize itself. And then will be the time for the Lord’s Righteous to truly mock fools.
Conspiracy within the Church ? These leaders will prove to be the BIGGST of all dupes.
Attempting to play both sides in appeasing public opinion & God, presumes to serve Mammon. Don’t they read the scriptures ?
The Lord in Isaiah, facilitates & ENCOURAGES true Saints to mock those fools when the time arrives for that. Untill then, He admonishes His rigteous few to patience & trust in His wisdom & timing.
They will be EXPOSED by Eternal Words of Truth that CAN NOT be denied, only feared & hated.

I once had a conversation with a good friend of mine, in which I explained to him some new thoughts that I had had concerning the devil. After we talked, he asked me to write it all down and publish it on this blog, because he believed that everyone ought to know this stuff, but I told him that I didn’t feel up to the task and that I thought I’d keep it to myself and that I had only shared it with him to get feedback, to see if he thought they were truths, etc. I told him that if he wanted to, he was free to write it down and share it with others, but he declined, insisting that I be the one to do it. At his petition, I started the essay, but I still don’t have the desire to finish it, so I doubt it’ll appear on LDS Anarchy. Nevertheless, some of the concepts of the never finished essay can be found in the last article hyperlinked above, so I recommend it.
